    90 years ago (1922), the Reds split a doubleheader at Redland Field vs. the Cubs--losing the opener 5-2, and winning the nightcap 2-1.

Bernie Friberg, who pinch-ran for Kelleher in the ninth, was thrown out at the plate on Grimes' single to end the game. Vic Aldridge pitched a complete-game ten-hitter in a losing effort for the Cubs.
