Soft liner to BP. 1 out.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Wish that had been hit on the ground.

I was hoping they'd tie it up. I wanted to see Chapman bat in the 9th.

I can understand that of course. Dusty has been lucky to get ...well maybe not lucky....but the use of the bullpen has been made so much easier with just about everyone dealing no matter when used, every time... 95% of the time this year.

So does Chapman get two saves today? One for getting CarGo and Tulu out in the eighth, and one for the ninth inning,

I did not picture you as someone who would want to always manage by the so called book. About time the best arm in the pen....of any pen for that matter....is stretched out when needed...and today it was needed.

I think Chapman could go 2 if he had to. I also think just about everyone in that pen could if they had to....not all the time of course, but not this .. 0.1, 0.2 innings pitched.

    Re: 5/27/12 Rockies at Reds

Eh...you have to use your players. That's Dusty's one strength as a manager - he believes in his guys and players usually respond to that. Show them you don't believe in them and they'll never play for you. It was Arredondo's turn to be in there. He knew it and Dusty knew it. He knows he didn't get it done this tie, too, and he's kicking himself for letting Dusty and the team down but at least they won. I think Dusty did it all the right way - he didn't stay too long with Jose but he did send him out there when everyone on the team knew it was his turn because of the other guys being used. Sometimes Dusty gets way too much criticism. If he has one real strength it's the way he handles the pitching staff.
