    Chad "Sharky" Rogers

. . . was named Pitcher of the Week in the California League.

    Chad Rogers, Bakersfield
    (1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 G, 1 GS, 8 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 0 HBP, 1 BB, 3 K)
Almost exclusively a reliever in his first pro season with Dayton last year (all but one of his 37 appearances were out of the bullpen), Rogers has shifted to the rotation with Bakersfield this spring and produced outstanding numbers in seven starts. On Thursday night the 22-year-old right-hander held host Inland Empire to four hits over a career-high eight innings in the Blaze's 4-0 win. The victory lowered Rogers' ERA to 1.75, third-best in the Cal League and second-best in the Reds farm system.

Hey that's a pretty cool story! He'd be a great triumvirate to have around with Bronson and Latos for the most laid back chillin' pitchin' trio in the big leagues. Hurry up and get there, dude!

I thought maybe he was a big fan of that Burt Reynolds movie "Sharky's Machine".

Seriously though. What kind of pitches does he throw and what are his chances of success?
