Nice to see them avoid the shutout.

Ballgame. Simply put, a VERY well pitched ballgame from the Buccos.

This was a lefty-righty move I expect. The lefty was in mostly for Votto and Bruce.
Lefty couldn't close the door. Reds with no more lefty bats so bring in righty closer to nail it down.

    Update:

    Valdez 8-45 (.178)
    Harris 3-35 (.086)
    Cairo 5-32 (.156)
    Costanzo 1-13 (.077)

A combined 17 for 125 (.136 average) from the bench this year.

I have seen enough of Valdez. I don't care if he is the 24th or 25th member of the roster (as that always seems to be justification for keeping bad players). He offers pretty much nothing.

Today may have been somewhat of a sacrificial game for the Reds. They won a long, hot game at home yesterday and had to jump on a plane for PIT - a short trip but they still had to play at 1:30 p.m. So Dusty gives Cozart and Frazier a break today against a guy who just completely owned them last time around. You rest a couple of the kids and hope Bronson can outduel McDonald. If he can't - which he couldn't - the hammers in the bullpen get a rest and you like your chances the next two nights against the Bucs.

I thought the Reds played tonite....and apparently so did the team. Yikes, another James McDonald gem. The Reds can't hit the curveball.

    Not from a righty.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!
