Weird double play to end the Pensacola half of the third.
Greene and Guzman draw one-out walks and then this happened:

David Vidal flies into double play, right fielder Chih-Hsien Chiang to first baseman Steven Proscia to shortstop Nick Franklin. Brodie Greene doubled off 2nd.
How far was Greene off of second to be doubled up with a relay man in the middle?
Zero chance the Reds miss the playoffs!

Pensacola falls 4-2. Not much to report. Brodie Greene 2 hits and a walk. Bullpen threw two scoreless frames.

Cingrani pitches a scoreless first. No score after one. (1.03)

Blaze up 5-2 at home in the top of the 9th. Hopefully they can hold on here and get Cingrani a win, which would make him 5-1 on the season with an ERA of 1.11.

Tonight's line: 5.1 IP (I wish they'd stretch him out just a bit more), 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K). Strikeouts low for his standards but another good outing, especially in a hitters' league.

BTW, Hamilton with two more steals. Up to 54 on the season and we're not even in June yet. Wow.

Two hits tonight for Juan Duran who is safely off the interstate at .207.

Its been a good stretch for Duran, in his last 7 games he has 4 multi-hit games and two walks in another outing.

The Blaze did win and Cingrani moved to 5-1 on the season with a 1.11 ERA.

Another nice performance from closer Brian Pearl, too. He now has 8 saves on the season and his overall numbers are impressive (26.1 IP, 19 H, 6 BB, 30 K). He's 24 years old and was the Reds' ninth-round pick in the '09 draft out of U of Washington. Sounds like he might be just about ready for a promotion to Pensacola considering his age and how well he's pitching this year.

Speaking of promotions to Double-A, the countdown has got to be on for Cingrani. Might as well move him up and see what he can do at a higher level. He's flat out dominating in high-A. In a "hitter's league" no less.

Pearl especially seems overdue given his age and his performance.

Very young to pitching though. He was a shortstop in college and only closed his last year. Then the next year the Reds tried to make him a starter and he didn't make it through April before getting hurt. Then he pitched 2 months last year. So, he has less than two full years worth of pitching in his entire life (at least as a full time pitcher).

Wow - that he has done as well as he has is even more impressive then!

I'd love it if something was beginning to click for Duran.
