Chapman will end up being the Reds' long-term closer and Madson will go elsewhere, IMO.
Has everyone noticed that no one in the Reds' rotation has missed a start this season? You know how many of those guys are free agents after this year? Zero. So, what makes anyone think Chapman will actually be a starter next year? They said he'd be a starter this year. It's obvious IMO he'll be a closer again next year. For those that disagree, which current Reds starter won't be back? Cueto? Latos? Arroyo? Leake? Bailey? (Exactly.)
Cueto and Latos are here to stay, for obvious reasons. But one of the remaining 3 could be made available in the offseason to address offensive needs, hence opening up a spot for Chapman.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.
