Pittsburgh police are investigating a robbery late Tuesday in the Downtown hotel room of Cincinnati Reds pitcher Aroldis Chapman at the Omni William Penn.

Mr. Chapman was not present at the time because the Reds and Pirates were playing a game that started late because of a two-hour rain delay.

Officers who were dispatched to the hotel at about 10:12 p.m. found a 26-year-old woman tied up and crying.

If I had to venture a guess, I would say Chapman paid for the hotel room but other people were staying in it. At least that's how it sounds from the article.

This pattern is not boding well for Chapman. Getting sued, a bizarre speeding ticket, now this. He is either getting mixed up with the wrong folks and/or he is in process of being extorted. The Reds now definitely need to be asking tough questions and to step up security for this guy.

It says in the article that "Mr. Chapman was not present." I think the police spokesperson is just using police speak and that the "male attending the game" refers to Chapman.
