Of course, Votto is on the bench so pinch hit Ludwick. He IS slightly better than COstanzo. By a hair.

Now unless a man gets on there is no way Votto pinch hits unless you do something funky.
This is the ol Left Hander rounding third and heading for home.
Doesn't look like it, but it's not over yet. Pirates have thrown the ball well and played some pretty nice defense. Offense has struggled mightily since the first.
(and btw to Reds/flyer, nobody has said the Reds offense isn't struggling....but to lay ALL the blame on the bats just isn't logical or fair. We HAVE faced some good pitching)
What frustrates me is there are certain games where it just seems Dusty is saying, here, we need rest and I need to get some guys PT so we're just gonna give yall this one. He does it half a dozen times a year.
I despise the Pirates, Pittsburgh, and their obnoxious fans. Why we stumble against an inferior team like this boggles the mind. I knew when we were so anemic on offense (or Burnett was that good) that any mistake would be fatal. It's too hard on our starters to be perfect day after day. Just infuriates me.
Great catch by Bruce.

Pitching is so funny. When Cueto gave up those runs, he looked gassed. Just seemed hittable that inning. Then he came back last inning and basically blew them away.
Two outs, nothing doing, he walks Neil Walker and then gives it up, out of the blue.
Frustrating.
Not that you expect to win one nothing, but just too bad Cueto gave it up that one inning, for whatever reason.
Need some real help here. Unfortunately, most teams are still in the race and not likely to be selling in the next 6 weeks. Seems like a white towel game. So much of the offensive production is hinged on Votto when he's not in the lineup, fans don't hold out much hope.
Tapper back to Marshall. 1 down.
Oh yeah, Sean's pitching. :O)
If we lose, this would be our first series lost since dropping 2 of 3 to the Nats May 11th thru 13th. And oh yeah, we'd still be in first place.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
He's on the losing side right now, but an excellent outing from Cueto.
Frustrating type of game. Here's hoping we can come back in the 9th
