Then you have the 2002 Angels and 2011 Cardinals. It was hitting that propelled them. There is no magic bullet. The Phillies loaded up on pitching and have not won a title since.

How many of you still want Carlos Lee?

He rips a double that Luddy had to go about 20 steps to get.....held to a single....later in the inning he's leading off 3rd and a broken bat nothing ball goes to Votto....Votto took 4 1/2 seconds from contact to get the ball home....he couldn't come close to running 80 feet in 4.5 seconds? Lol

He then hits into a DP and he pulls a hammy taking 5.0 to get to first.

Only 4 HR? A complete clog.

If he could bat left handed I'd still take him

It was 1988....no one had any hitting. Kirk Gibson won the MVP with 24 HR 76 RBI.....don't think he was over .300....hardly anyone was.

In 1987 everyone hit everything. The very next year nobody hit anything.
