Love the pace of the MLB draft. Not as fast as it used to be, but that was chaotic. This is perfect. And it's a far cry from the NFL which has too long between picks (even though Goodell has done a good job of making it better).

I wouldn't either and it wouldn't bother me - I like him. Just say no to Marrerro.

Wow, he was projected to go 24th in Keith Law's final mock.

And if one of the 3 becomes an all star they will be estatic.

The failure rate of high draft picks is not comforting.

Right, I knew that. It's going to see how this all works out. One thing for sure, Scott Boras already knows how he's going to work this new system. That's not a complaint - he's a smart guy & he'll know what his approach is going to be. It's possible some later picks within the slot structure perhaps sign earlier before the bonus pool dwindles too much.

Thinking Dahl will go to Colorado.

Sticking to my draft board: Giolito, Hawkins, Shaffer or Stratton.

Hoping for one of those four.

Appel is said to have an easy delivery, watching a few deliveries, it looked a little complicated and awkward to me.

I think the Reds will consider Stroman, especially given the success of the vertically challenged Cueto, Leake and Corcino. (I realize Leake was the only one they actually drafted).

Is it just me or does Dahl just look like a ballplayer?

Yep. The guy is going to be a major league pitcher, but I'm not a huge fan of the athleticism in his delivery. A bit awkward, a little labored.

I think he'll be a good player in the Damon mold - speed, contact, enough power to play
