James Ramsey to the Cardinals at 23. His comparison on MLBTV is Skip Schumaker.... Reds fans can only hope for as much.

wouldn't have been my choice, but I'm actually OK with the pick - especilly if they manage to sign him fairly soon. I like the idea of he and Stephenson (and maybe Garrett too) working teir way through the system together. Hopefully it will bolster the team come mid-decade or so.

I'd get Mario to Zona and start working on his changeup. Doesn't sound like his breaking/off-speed stuff is bad - just like he hasn't really used them yet so they aren't developed.

Woody Allen and F Nietzsche at 18! If that is true he should be on 24 hr suicide watch.

I'd like to see us take a chance at David Thompson (3B) from Westminster Christian in Florida at some point in this draft.

Ramsey looks like a slap-and-go guy to me. He was compared to noted superstar Skip Schumaker. John Hart says, helpfully, "He doesn't have a giant tool that stands out."

Ramsey doesn't. I like him overall but not at this point. Maybe in the 50s. Glad to see this for the Cards.

If the Reds had inside knowledge that they sign this guy cheaper than the slot amount (and really liked him anyway), it might allow them to draft some laters guys who fall because of teams not having enough to sign them.

Nats have $4.4M to sign 10 players, and it might not be enough to get their #1 pick.

Ouch. Gammons just said the Cardinals' pick is an "Area scout kind of kid ... you have to see him a lot to see how good he is."

Haha. In other words, he's not that good, but every once in a while he'll flash some greatness.

    REACH!

He also listens to Bauhus and Joy Division ...so yeah ...his dynamics in the clubhouse will be something to behold.

Never a good thing when the only thing they talk about is a player's character instead of, you know, baseball skills?
This will not change until the Reds win the World Series.......

Giolito might take the risk of going to college, too. If he stays healthy, he could be a top-fiver in three years.

    No concern there for Travieso.
