First your profile pic of Pete and now talking about Trahan's body? I'm starting to worry about you man.

A lot of scouts wonder if he can stay behind the plate, though. Probably less power than O'Brien, too. I don't understand it but then I'm not a scout.

It's worth remembering that every player is (or has) some junk.

Looks like the scouts have had their eye on him a bit longer than RZers

Coulter to Milwaukee. Decent pick. Should stick at catcher and good power. Don't like it for the Reds sake though. Good player.

Clint Coulter (a catcher-y name) is from just across the river in Camas, Washington. I wasn't aware much but suburbs and pot grew there.

Usually PNW players go to college, with Oregon State being the prime program. Not a lot of high HS picks out of this region. I guess Tampa got a couple of position players last year.

Only five players actually came to the draft? Jeez. Coulter flew 3,000+ miles to get picked #27.

Well, Roache goes to the Brewers. They had a good first round.

Crew also gets Victor Roache, OF, Georgia Southern. Dude hit thirty homers in a season as a sophomore. Listed as 6'1", 230#. Hmm, chunky.

Re: Official 2012 Draft Day Thread (Day 1)

Just for fun, I decided to take a stab at what the 2017 squad could look like if the Reds don't extend anyone's contracts. Obviously, there are a bunch of prospects that are left out (Yorman Rodriguez, Juan Duran, Ismael Guillon, etc.), but as "weak" as people sometimes say the system is, I don't think it's in all that bad of shape.

    SS Billy Hamilton
    CF Ryan LaMarre
    1B Joey Votto
    3B Gabriel Rosa
    RF Jay Bruce
    2B Brandon Phillips
    LF Todd Frazier
    C Devin Mesoraco

    C Tucker Barnhart
    IF Zack Cozart
    IF Henry Rodriguez
    OF Kyle Waldrop
    OF Donald Lutz

    SP Robert Stephenson
    SP Nick Travieso
    SP Dan Corcino
    SP Amir Garrett
    SP Kyle Lotzkar

    RP J.J. Hoover
    RP Donnie Joseph
    RP Tony Cingrani
    RP Drew Cisco
    RP Chad Rogers
    RP Brian Pearl
    RP Dan Renken
