He's a 2 way athlete. Doesn't work as a pitcher stick him in the outfield. Hits as well as he pitches.

It's not like McCullers Sr. was a superstar. He made about $1.5 million total playing ball (plus bonus, whatever a second-rounder got in 1982). That is, of course, still a pretty good chunk of cash. http://www.baseball-reference.com/pl...cculla01.shtml

Yankees take Ty Hensley, RHP, OK HS. Compared to... Micah Owings. Interesting.

That makes sense. So at this point it is certain he is headed to college?

He's committed to Florida and with the new signing rules and money his father may be pushing him to go to college. I don;t know that - just seeing him fall makes it a educated guess and teams knowing this are shying off.

The Reds could try to sign him and if not the supplemental pick is protected for a extra pick next year.

It would likely be a team with an extra pick that would take a shot at him

MLB Network says only 60 seconds between picks in comp round. Wow...

The announcers pretty much confirmed McCullers is a signability issue and they have the Cards picking him in the supplemental round.

A pitcher that can hit but can't pitch. That is interesting.

I might not even finish this 8-pack of 16-oz Budweisers before the comp round is over. It's going to be rapid fire. (Got 3 Buds left, FYI.)
