The Reds have signed second round pick Tanner Rahier for the No. 78 overall pick's full slot bonus of $649,700, according to Callis (Twitter link). Callis notes that the high school shortstop out of California has a "promising bat," and praises his instincts and energy.

#Reds sign 3rd-rder Dan Langfield for $436,800 (full pick value). #Memphis RHP's fastball jumps touches 97, slider may be better.

Don't expect Kyle Wren to sign. His dad, the Braves' general manager, said his son is going to school and try to get stronger in the off-season.

According to someone on twitter, Zach Vincej is still undecided about signing.

Add these players to the list of those who signed:
    Ben Klimesh (15th)
    Nick Routt (16th)
    Austin Muehring (19th)
    Jordan Remer (21st)
    Michael Saunders (24th)
    Michael "Austin" Salter (31st)
    Richard McCaffery (34th)

Salter is wearing #81 in Arizona.

Gelalich (1sb), Amaral (7), Mejias-Brean (8) and Pigott (9) are not signing as long as their teams are still alive in the CWS (at least another week) and I don't expect Kivel (10) to sign because of his injury. The guy I'd most like to see them sign next after Travieso (1) would be Jose Ortiz (17), the HS catcher out of Puerto Rico.

Re: 2012 Official Draft Picks and Signings

I'd have to check the number of signings on previous drafts, but doesn't it seem like a higher % of signings this year?

Re: 2012 Official Draft Picks and Signings

Conflicting info on the Felt bonus money. I'm more inclined to believe Jim Callis than the local reporter I quoted earlier.

The Reds signed fifth rounder Mason Felt to an over-slot deal worth $318K, Jim Callis of Baseball America reports (on Twitter). The high school left-hander has the potential for a plus fastball and curve. The Reds signed a number of other selections, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Outstanding news on Travieso! Maybe they can sweeten the pot a little for someone like Kivel.

Is there anything to be gained by not using the whole amount of bonus allotment money in a year? Does it roll over or anything?
