    Blaze 5th

Barnhart lofts one to RF but it falls short for out 1. Guess that's why they call him Flier Tuck
Theo is called out on strikes. Lots of Blaze Ks tonight.
Billy Blazes lifts another lazy flyball to left field. 3 down.
And we go to the 6th still Blaze 1 enemy 0

Renken fans Groff then gets Freeman on a liner right at Theo in left.
Gilbert grounds out 5-3 to end the inning. They aren't hitting Dan tonight.

    Blaze Up in the 6th.
    Lohman fans.
    Smaith called on strikes
Mattair grounds out 5-3. He came on in D'Anna's place but it hasn't helped.
After 6 complete it's a heckuva pitcher's duel with Renken & the Blaze on top 1-0.

Renken and Holmberg are pitching beauties. Rencken better quit this before someone notices him.

    Visalia 7th

Renken fans Griffin swinging and Borchering looking. Getting better as he goes along.
Weber socks a soft flyball and Theo Bowe drifts under it and snag - take the field boys it's our turn to bat!

Dry desert air is doing nothing for the bats tonight as Daniel Renken has shut down Visalia. Billy Blazes Hamilton hasn't been able to get on to turn his speed loose, the sole run so far coming on Lohman's double and Smith's single in the first off Holmberg. Since then he's matched Renken zero for zero.

Holmberg has 10 Ks so far and Renken 6. Renken has a 4 hitter going with just 1 walk.

Niko V out 6-3. 1 down. D'Anna Single then Ewing hits into a 5-4-3 DP. Quick as that the 7th is over. Correction to an earlier comment. Mattair is playing third tonight not replacing D'Anna. Flexible guy.

Holmberg may be losing some gas - the Blaze is starting to hit the ball, just at people.

The Blaze is a fun team to follow - the best of the Reds farm players are concentrated there and they are pretty good.

    Visalia 8th

    Gomez grounds out 4-3
    LaPensee grounds out 6-3
    Bell grounds out 5-3.
Renken uses a half dozen pitches and dominates that inning.

    Re: Tuesday, June 5, 2012, Minor-League Updates

Could we hit now? Are you guys done slumbering? This is the freakin' Cal League guys....the Reds left Florida. Round em up, Hit em Yard Slam em Hard Rawhide! Yippee!! Go Blaze! Every time I see Dominic D'Anna's name I wanna sing Fee Fi Fo Fanna Dominick Dee Anna! Fannah!

    Bakersfield bottom 8
Tucker B grounds out 6-3 then Theo dribbles one back to Holmberg who promptly throws him out probably giggling
Billy Blazes flies out again. End of 8. 1-0

Visalia Tries to get back in it.
Kyle McMyne will replace Daniel Rencken who pitched an exquisite game. I Kyle doesn't blow it for Daniel. I don't exactly exude confidence in McMyne either but they are probably thinking Pearl pitched last night.

    Visalia Top 9 trailing 1-0

McMyne walks Groff the leadoff hitter.
    Make this a nailbiter.
