Baker is an idiot, he should have taken out the pitcher before the HR.
No one should care about the Pirates game. The Cards game is the only out of town score that matters.
Actually, the Reds per game average suggests the Reds are reasonably likely to score 1 run over the next 2 innings.
Considering that the Tigers are not robots that guarantee runs during this time period, the game will likely continue. As I type, I notice that the umps have not called the game due to the Reds inept offense.

Pitching and defense has allowed five runs, I can't blame the offense too much tonight.
I include the defense because I think it is partially responsible.
But the Reds' offense is really frustrating to watch. Can you imagine this offense WITHOUT Votto?
Yet were are in first place.
You place too much emphasis on every batter, every inning, every game, when baseball is a long term plan.
There is a ton of randomness in baseball, which players do not control. If you are expecting eveythiong to go right all the time, it's not your sport.
We are in first place. And our only competiton is down by four.
Four runs is never enough in GABP

I disagree the pitching is failing. It's been average-ish lately. That's gonna happen to the best of staffs. And the bullpen is going to have some failures even if its a great pen.
But I agree this offense is dysfunctional. All or nothing, driven by one player and home runs. The imbalance vs LH/RH pitching and the lack of OBP is killing this team's offense.
This got ugly pretty quick. Our bats need to come back to life. Wish Porcello was still put there. Dang. Btw, Below is the cousin of a fellow teacher I work with. I hope we touch him up here.
Counting?
I simply suggested that it's not out of the realm of possibility that the Reds score 1 run over the next 2 innings.
Considering that they have beaten that average so far in this singular game I present the possibility that the Reds tie the game.
Yes, the homerun by Young gives Detroit the much higher probability of winning this game, but it's 1 run!
Cairo singles. Not a homer but even a hit !! Hey little Miggy
Dusty playing for the tie.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”
