Joey Votto- What to do with him?

Votto is really becoming a problem. He is hurting opposing pitchers' feelings, making other Reds hitters looking like they are not doing their jobs, his doubles beg for Bruce to be IBB'd, he is not won a gold glove since last season, and he is on a pace to be caught stealing 6 times. I think he needs to go to Louisville to work on his fundamentals.

One more foul out from him and he should be released. Those foul HRs are getting old too.

On pace to break the record number of doubles in a season. Doubles. Gak. That's like kissing your sister.

Funny record, mostly 20's and 30's... leader played in a Fenway a huge hitters park in the 30's known for doubles.

Only two recent guys on top ten list, both from 2000

2000... note that season the 2nd highest MLB OPS in modern history

    SEASON

    T10 Billy Herman 1936 57
    T10 Carlos Delgado 2000 57
Helton hit 18 2b's in August

    Delgado 19 in July

Webb had 16 in May, 18 in July, 13 in September that's 47

Votto is on pace for 71... in a HR park that has had lower 2b rates in the past

FWIW: Here are the Reds with 47 2b's in a season

I would probably send him to the minors after his performance tonight. Striking out is unacceptable.

He needs to focus more on baseball and less on designer clothes and fancy coffee.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I'm going to have to ask you to stop stealing my gimmick. How can I make this joke if you make it first?

I will say that my heart was in the pit of my stomach the other night when he fouled that pitch off his knee. I really thought he broke something.

Re: Joey Votto- What to do with him?

Joey needs to work on his clichés.
When he's interviewed, he refuses to give the standard answer.

    For example:

Q: Was this a very important win for the team?

Baker Answer: "Oh Yeah. BIG TIME. Coming from behind and after the Pittsburgh series. Yeah, we needed this one"

Joey Answer: "No. All wins are the same. It doesn't matter"

I enjoy it but he drives guys like Day and Pecoro crazy.

If that's a real quote my man crush just hit a new record high.

    Marry me Joey! MARRY ME!
