Cairo flies out to left. Two down.

See this is where I thought we were when I said it wasn't meant to be

    Cozart grounds out. Tough loss.

    Damn. Ballgame.

That was a real shame. Bronson pitched fantastically. The hitters had phenomenal approaches at the dish. Baseball's a funny game sometimes.

There is so much randomness in baseball you can't simply get too high or too low during the season.

It's too stressful, it doesn't do any good, and, as you say, baseball is funny for those very reasons.

We played well today and lost on a bloop single off the bat of a premium hitter.

We worked the best pitcher in baseball more than he's been worked in quite some time.

This is why taking the first game of a series is so important.

Yep.. Had to move my son today, so all I had was radio on my iPhone, At Bat app, but I expected a loss. Regardless of randomness , my old coach told me that you do control the outcome of a game with effort. Humans fail, and on many occasions, so do those in charge. But today, there were so many opportunities. The lack of a true cleanup bat is so striking that I cannot believe the brain trust does not notice. Brandon is so mis-cast that even he knows it. Then the manager, old school as he is, like me, decides to let Prince be the guy that a lefty can get out. Fail. So, the series is decided tomorrow. With both Pittsburgh and the Cards winning, it's time to win. As most of you dismiss the Bucs, I can guarantee the Redbirds will win. Remember every game lost is one you cannot get back. That's just me. Criticize if you want (and some will), but losing games is not the option regardless of the long season.

    Re: Tigers at Reds 6/9/12

I have to admit I was somewhat very impressed with our hitters, overall, and their approach/patience at the plate with Verlander. Phillips was about the only one that bummed me out in some of his A/Bs.... but then, that's Brandon.

And I like what I am seeing out of Arroyo so far this year. The thing with Bronson is - once he gets around the 6th inning, keep a very careful eye on him because when he loses gas, he loses it fast.

Lets take the rubber game today. Bailey had a shaky start last time out; but the Tiger's Smyly has really struggled bad his last several starts.
