    Sunday 6-10-12 Minor League Updates

Neftali Soto has a 2 run HR and the bats are up 3-2 on Scranton/WB.
Tim Gustafson pitching for the Bats.

Soto with an .839 OS in June. IF he can get back on the radar, he could be a nice chip. 1B is surprisingly weak in the NL right now with only Votto, Lahair, LaRoche and Goldschmitt with OPS above .759 among qualifiers. Fielder and Pujols in the AL, Berkman and Howard hurt, Helton and Lee aging, Sanchez and Davis having horrible years and guys like Freeman and Alonso underwhelming so far, there could be a market if he starts hitting like he did in 2011.

The Scranton/WB lineup includes Chris Dickerson (leading off, .314), Jack Cust and Russell Branyan, who of course has a home run.

Dayton's up 4-1 after six. Muller and Yovan Gonzalez have two hits apiece.

Edit: Actually 5-1 after six. The Dragons scored again. Joe Terry tripled.

Bakersfield up 6-4 in the middle of the sixth. Hamilton is 3-4 with a double and a stolen base (71). Modesto has an odd line 4R 2H 4E.

Bryson Smith's numbers, spread out of 150-ish games look awfully good for a CF:

    317/382/441 822 13 HR 105 RBI 25 SB

    Like it. Like it alot.

Hamilton's numbers, in case you're wondering, are mind-boggling:

    320/405/445 32 2B 22 3B (!) 55 RBI 195 SB 39 CS

Hamilton may be the most interesting player in all of professional baseball.

Dayton won 6-1. Juan Silva was 2-2, 2 doubles, 2 walks. Quezada had a good start. Michael Dennhardt and Ryan Kemp are pitching well out of the pen.

The Bakersfield final was 9-4. Hamilton, Bryson Smith and Dominic D'Anna were all 3-5, with five 2B between them (one for Hamilton, two for the others). Long and great bullpen work from Daniel Wolford, Michael Griffin (coming on) and Kyle McMyne.

It would seem that, except for the Reds, the bullpen was strong all day throughout the organization. Pensacola got scoreless work from Manno, Serrano, Tanner, Hayes and Freeman, who earned the save after the Wahoos went ahead, 4-3, in the top of the 10th, Gregorius singling in Fleury with two outs. Sulbaran started. Gregorius and Vidal had two hits each.
