That would have been strike 3 to a Red.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

The zone seems to shrink vs righties

We clearly aren't getting the same strike zone. I'm not normally one to complain about umpires, but it seems pretty clear to me.
This will not change until the Reds win the World Series.......

Based on the actual rule in the book, I think the ump got the call correct as funny as the play looked.

I'm not positive, but it's possible that the backswing of the backswing touched the catcher in the belly. (Not a sentence I ever expected to type.)

My replay from behind the umpire sure looks like Mes steps on Laird's foot.

Yep that was my gut reaction too based solely on the throw.

If the balls and strikes calls against the Reds are this bad...per most everyone here, just about every other day.,....then why does Baker not ever go Bobby Cox on theses umps every once in a while. Talk about rolling over and just taking it.
