David Robertson pitched the first (scoreless) inning against Louisville, and John Maine took over. Bats lead 2-1 in the third with one hit, a single by Rhinehart. Russell Branyan drove in the Scranton/WB run against Sean Gallagher.

It's now 5-2 SWB after three.
Not a good day for Louisville pitching. Collectively, Gallagher, Judy and Fisher have given up 10 hits and 7 walks, while striking out just 3 in 7 innings. This has led to 9 runs, 8 of them earned. None of the pitchers were effective. Offensively, the Bats have put 7 runs on the scoreboard. Felix Perez has homered. Willie Harris has two hits and two runs scored. Mike Costanzo also has two hits, including a single and a 3-run jack. He has scored one run and knocked in three. Rojas and Rhinehart also have safeties and scored a run.
Mike Costanzo has flourished since returning to AAA:

Costanzo's RBIs came on a 3-run HR.
Russell Branyan is 3-4 with 2 doubles and 4 RBIs.

Bats lose 9-7.
At least they've been scoring a few runs the last several days. That's a development.
Justice French had a rough first inning and Bakersfield (first game of a DH) trails 2-1 in the second. D'Anna doubled.
Stockton is apparently fluent in French. It's now 5-1 after two.
The Bakers string together a bunch of singles, score four times in the third, and are now tied 5-5.
The first seven guys in the Bakersfield lineup are 1-2.

The Blaze stopped hitting at that point, lost 9-5.
Game two shortly.
Jaren Matthews launched one in the second. Josh Smith two scoreless frames so far. Blaze lead 1-0.
Smith's handsome line through four: 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 7 K.
Hamilton has been picked off and caught stealing. Learning day.
Edit: Actually, it was the same play. He was picked off, then broke for second and was thrown out.

Hamilton was caught again. More important, I suppose, he's 3-4. Theo Bowe, batting behind him now, has two more hits.
It's 4-0 after six (7-inning game) . . . As I type that, Josh Smith loses his shutout on a home run . . . And now it's over, 4-1.
Smith: 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 9 K. He's been looking good.
Dayton lost 6-4. Buckley homered. Gerson struggled, although he K'd 8 in 5 IP.
With four games remaining, the Blaze have a magic number of 1 to become the first half champion of the Northern division. First half carries more weight as it guarantees a spot in divisional playoffs. Second half winner has to win a mini series to get there.
