70 years ago The World Series was the Senators vs the Giants. I came across these photos of activities on the field prior and after the game at Griffith Stadium. Note in picture one the car and band on the field. In picture 2 this is a view of post game, I guess the fans could cross the field to exit at will.

Here are a few others.
Palace of the Fans circa 1905, see the plumbing building in the back ground? When the park was razed and redland built they swung the field to the left and the building was behind right field instead of CF.
Here's a look at the type of ball the players had to hit back then.
One thing about the dead ball era is that the 'superstars" generally were much larger men then the average ballplayer, look at this photo of the Cleveland Blues (Naps) checkout LaJoie (in the jacket) he's quite large compared to the rest.
