I don't agree, I think we need to have a plan. If the pitcher is throwing first pitch strikes then I want the hitters going after him, but if he is struggling I want them to lay off. A flat don't swing at the first pitch is not a sound policy in my opinion.

I don't have a problem if good contact is being made. But we're 1 for 3 in that regard so far tonight, and 0 for 3 in hits.

Bruce is going to strike out, it's his style, as for Votto, he can swing at any pitch he wants, he is more time then not going to hit the ball, as for Frazier again I think if he feels the pitch is a good one then go after it.

So are you saying it was good strategy for those players or not? Because you first said it was good strategy, then you said the problem was the players, not the strategy.
