vaughn was a big contributor that year but He struck out alot. another one of my favorites was jeffrey hammonds He would always get a clutch hit when we needed it.
I can't dispute that he struck out a lot, but his bat was ferocious that year, and pitchers were scared. Tons of RBIs and many of them were clutch.
We have no RH hitter like that on this current roster. If Ludwick of Frazier step it up it could be similar, but it would take an incredible second half to match Vaughn's numbers. Guy was a beast for us, imo.
Kinda, sorta. But that '99 team had a couple of guys that had unbelievable career years. Pokey, Eddie Taubensee, and Steve Paris come to mind. Casey had his best power numbers year as well. They also had a very deep bench. All that being said, I hope this team matches that team's win total.
