    Friday 6/15/2012 Minor-League Updates

It's probably nothing, but Rolen batted three times tonight for Louisville (1-3), then Joey Gathright hit in his place the last time around.

Bats lost 4-1. Dioner Navarro raised his averaged to .340 with two singles. Donnie Joseph walked two and fanned two in his hitless inning.

Pensacola lost the suspended game 4-1.

The Blue Hoos lead in the regular game (which will be 7 innings), 3-0 after four. J.C. Sulbaran has been sharp--and he's also 2 for 2 with an RBI.

Dayton banged out 16 hits and won 9-3.

Junior Arias, leading off, was 3-5 with a HR. So was Steve Selsky, batting cleanup. Juan Silva was 2-3 with a HR. Sean Buckley was 3-5. Kyle Waldrop was 2-4. Radhames Quezada just missed a quality start, but Cole Green and El'Hajj Muhammad threw shutdown relief.

Hamilton's not in the lineup tonight for Bakersfield. I assume it's a well-earned day off after the Blaze clinched the first-half division title. Theo Bowe, leading off, singled and was picked off. Bakersfield trails 2-0 after one, with Renken pitching.

Sulbaran was charged with two runs (one earned) that scored after he left the game. His line: 5.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K. Wahoos lead 3-2 in the middle of the sixth. Joel Guzman, like Sulbaran, is 2-2.

Juan Duran homered for Bakersfield, but not before Lake Elsinore scored 2 more in the second. It's 4-1.

Anyone know how Rolen looked in his three AB's? I see he went 1 for 3, but how'd those look?

In Bakersfield's 8-4 loss last night, Duran finished 3-4 with 2 HR. Theo Bowe was 2-3 to raise his average to .367. Danny Vicioso is at .360 after going 2-3. Hamilton didn't play.

After pitching very well lately, Michael Griffin had a rough inning. Daniel Wolford, not so much: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K.

I wouldn't mind seeing Navarro up with the Reds when the need a DH. It would allow them to use Mesoracco or Hannigan more often.

I wouldn't mind Cincinnati dealing either Mesoraco or Hanigan for a real clean up bat in LF.

How much could Drew Stubbs and Mesoraco get the Reds?

No one wants to give up much for either of those players unless they can prove they can produce consistently. All of the other teams would approach it with a "buying low" attitude, so I think you'd have to wait if you want to get anything of value before you deal them.
