    Billings

This is not exact but a rough idea.

    C Gomez
    1B Maddox, Sanchez
    2B Ramirez, Wrenn
    SS Dailey
    3B Rosa
OF Winker, Jon Matthews, and eventually a couple of CWS draft picks

P: Mugarian, Stephenson, Romano, Guillon, Bender, Amezcua, Cisco, Ramos, Chacin, Adames, and a few others. Three draft picks that have impressed are Routt, Lucas, and Wiley.

Not sure what the plans are for Langfield and Moscot. They will be very, very careful with them because of the number of innings already this spring.

There are still some questions to be answered with player assignments. Couple unfortunate injuries.

Best arm among the next crop of Latin pitchers is Pedro Diaz, but he is an AZL guy.

It's nice to see Amezcua's name again. He has pitched in only 8 games since being drafted a couple years ago.

Thanks 72. Get the CWS hitters in there and it could be a good squad. It will depend, of course, on the young moundsmen -- talented, but young, and it's a hitters league.

Do you know who the injured are?

    Seems like
    1) an aggressive start for Winker,
    2) Maddox should feast in that situation, and
    3) it's a pretty exciting lineup of young pitchers.

Valor is one and the other one I don't want to say too much about yet. It's a position player not on my list.

Nice article on Billings. Wes Mugarian is the Opening Day pitcher for the second straight season. Stephenson will probably go on Tuesday.

    O'Rear over Ismael Guillon?

Ok, there you have the second injury in that story:

Catcher Joe Hudson, selected in the sixth round out of Notre Dame this season, was originally slated to come to Billings, but he suffered a broken wrist after getting hit by a pitch in his first intra-squad game. He’s expected to be out 4-6 weeks

    Re: Billings

Too bad about Hudson. Would have been great to have a top-flight defensive catcher out of college handling the young starters in Billings. Hopefully Gomez can show himself equal to the task.

Still seems like the roster is way too large.

    Re: Billings

I am sure they will keep Langfield's innings to a minimum.

As for the rotation, I believe you could have a lot of guys splitting up the innings. Guillon has impressed people by the fact that he has not quit after going through two years of wildness. One scout described it this way: "his body type does not allow him to repeat his delivery. It can be hard to watch." As I said somewhere else, he is a great athlete and you hear some scouts suggesting they need to move him to the outfield. The Reds obviously are not ready to give up on him as a pitcher.

You have Bender there too, whom they are really high on. Some people are tremendously high on Romano. Lets see what he does. He could vault up the prospect list in a hurry if the results bear out some of what I have been getting from people.
