Nice. A no-no ended by striking out the side (all 3 outs) in the ninth.

Must be nice that Corcino's last game was erased by weather and he gets to replace it with a 8 inning no hitter instead.......

I know that Corcino has always been compared to Cueto.

Cueto was 22.2 (22 and 2 months) when he came up with the Reds (Opening Day 2008).

Corcino is now 21.10. Just to give a perspective on age.

Cueto with 348.2 IP in MiL: 43 IP (rookie), 76.1 IP (A), 146 IP (A+), 61 IP (AA), 22 IP (AAA).

Corcino with 342.2 IP: 34 IP (Dominican Rookie), 68 IP (rookie), 170.2 IP (A), 0 IP (A+), 70 IP (AA).

    Cueto:
    9.3 K/9
    2.1 BB/9
    7.9 H/9
    1.12 WHIP

    Corcino:
    9.0 K/9
    3.3 BB/9
    8.5 H/9
    1.31 WHIP

Cueto had better numbers (most notably BB/9) but the numbers are comparable and this gives you an idea how close Corcino could be if he follows a similar path as Cueto. Interesting that Cueto pretty much skipped AAA (22 IP before he was called up for good).

I found myself a little nervous wondering what if one of the Reds starters went down with an injury. Would Corcino be in the mix at all?

At this point I would think Corcino would be second in line behind Sam LeCure to make the start. With Brett Tomko on the disabled list, I would think Corcino would be the first guy to get the call in the event they need someone from the minors to get the start.

Good point about Sam. I was so busy looking at the rosters in the minors I forgot about him.

I would toss Villarreal into that conversation as well. I think whoever got the call could be more about when the start was needed to be made.

I'd say Villareal is first in line with Lecure second and then whoever.
