    Saturday 6/16/2012 Minor-League Updates

Bats win(!) 11-5. Matt Maloney, in his return to Louisville Slugger field, was touched up for 9 runs, Corky Miller, Mike Costanzo, and Scott Rolen all hit LONG home runs off of him.

As mentioned by JaxRed, Daniel Corcino has pitched 7 no-hit innings so far for the Blue Wahoos, tune in to milb.tv to see what happens next!

As noted in the other thread, Corcino was lifted after eight no-hit innings, having thrown 110 pitches. He struck out 9 and walked 3. Blue Hoos lead 6-0 going into the ninth.

Dayton got thumped 11-2. None of the pitchers--Robles, O'Rear and Jensen--distinguished himself. Juan Silva homered. Joe Terry had three hits.

If Matt Maloney gave up home runs to Mike Costanzo and 2012 Scott Rolen you can officially stick a fork in him.

    Not to mention Corky Miller...

Matt has had a bad start to the year, hopefully he can turn it around.

I always liked Maloney, but when you're giving it up to the likes of Miller, Costanzo and Rolen, it just might be time to pack the bags and head to grad school.

Wilkin De La Rosa fans the side in the ninth, around a walk, and completes Pensacola's no-hitter!

Corcino (8 innings) and De La Rosa struck out a dozen between them, walking four.

Vidal had his first AA home run. Gregorius was 2-4 with a 3B.

The victory raises the Blue Wahoos to .500 on the season. They've been very hot, based, of course, on a tremendous rotation aided by the addition of Cingrani.

Bakersfield is down 3-1. Theo Bowe, who's hit all year (or at least since he's been moved to the California League, is 2-2 with a single, a double, and an RBI.

Hamilton is 1-1 with a single, a BB, and three SB. Ho-hum.

One of the best minor league days of the season. Minus Dayton which is beyond repair. They are quite terrible.
Attended 1976 World Series in my Mother's Womb. Attended 1990 World Series Game 2 as a 13 year old. Want to take my son to a a World Series Game in Cincinnati in my lifetime.

Bakersfield now up 4-3 on Tucker Barnhart's third HR of the season. He also has a double and is hitting over .400 in his last 10 games with an OPS north of 950. The main knock on Barnhart has been his power, or lack thereof. Nice to see him start to turn on the ball.

Theo Bowe is 3-3 with three steals as well.

EDIT: McMyne gave up the lead the very next inning. He's done that a lot lately.

Check that: Bakersfield comes back in the bottom of the inning with a three spot and are still batting.

Hamilton now 2-3 with a BB and five stolen bases. He has 80 on the year. 65 games. For those keeping track, he's now over .325 with an obp over .410 and an OPS over .850.

I would say he is ready to go to Pensacola.
