I'm a big believer in recovery time. When you have a big pitch effort, you should skip an extra day or two before your next start. Look at the big picture. Its similar to horse racing, when a race horse runs big, a smart trainer will give him extra time off to avoid the bounce.
I suspect JC is not as sharp today because he didn't have enough time to recover from his 120 pitch effort .
