Fielding percentage can be deceiving. Ozzie Smith's career fielding percentage was .978, while Derek Jeter's is .976. Jeter is ok, but to me he's not in the same league as Ozzie Smith. Fielding percentage, though, would suggest otherwise.

I'm a big believer in recovery time. When you have a big pitch effort, you should skip an extra day or two before your next start. Look at the big picture. Its similar to horse racing, when a race horse runs big, a smart trainer will give him extra time off to avoid the bounce.

I suspect JC is not as sharp today because he didn't have enough time to recover from his 120 pitch effort .

Also, isn't Wright's percentage below the league average?

What's the line, though? Does 110 pitches warrant an extra day? 105?

I saw the replay of the attempted play in the 1 hitter, but they just showed him miss the bare hand attempt. Looked like he did not have to bare hand it at all, unless the batter was a very fast lefty? From the half replay I saw it looked like an error...

Valdez comes through!!! RBI single into center. Also great job of getting to 2nd on the throw. Or was it? Now there's a base open for Votto.

Intentional walk to Votto. Make them pay, Brandon.

    BP delivers

Aggressive baserunning from Votto - nice.
