    Me too...

It is worth noting that Latos didn't walk anyone. It's hard to say the zone was SO terrible... but no walks. He threw some very hittable balls 'right down Broadway'....

It will be all right, I think. Lot of talent there, the rotation on balance will do fine. Even this game is a tie. Nothing tragic happening.

Now get me the lefty OBP hitter for the top of the lineup.
Agreed. The rotation will balance itself out. The offense, while hot right now, could definitely use more stability. I've been on that bandwagon for quite some time.

As fans, we're trying to talk this guy into being better than he is. Because we gave up a crap ton for him, and we NEED him to be that good.

Now I'm not questioning his stuff. He could end up being an ace. And I'm not saying it was a stupid trade. But it should be obvious by now why San Diego made that trade. Latos can be very good. But very maddening. I'm tired of it after 3 months, I can only imagine how they felt after 3 or more years.
I'm not excusing the year he's had to this point. But on this night, this ump has been pretty damn tough.

He did, he made a terrible mistake on the 0-2 home run.

But I'm sure he'd tell you that umpiring like this completely messes up a pitcher.

I would guess that Messrs. Latos and Lowe are both rather unhappy with this umpire and we might hear about it after the game.

Of the 62 NL starting pitchers that qualify, Latos is now in the bottom 5. There are only 3 worse in ERA and WAR. He has been that bad. I am not comforted. I am worried.

Even if Arroyo is pitching better than expected.

Smith got that inside pitch. So inconsistent.

As long as Latos is healthy, I'm not worried. He's still a young pitcher, big change of scenery.

I understand your point, I hope you're incorrect. Would like Mat to succeed.

Now the ump is calling those corner strikes.

    Ump favors side armers.

Good luck trying to get Derek Lowe to express his feelings whatsoever. He's generally fairly taciturn, isn't he???

They thought this guy was better....I thought he was getter than what he has shown. If you are going to give up 2 very good prospects, blocked or not in your organization.....a decent bullpen arm, if not more....that enough should have netted you better than this.

Now the scoring ends. We'll probably go 14 tonight.
