None of the three . I thought that last pitch wasn't a strike. Beethoven agrees with me.

Randy Wolf's brother, I think. He isn't allowed to umpire a game in which Randy is playing.

I'm beginning to wonder if George isn't a "black cat". It seems like the Reds always fall short when he's behind the mike.

Stealing signs? So be smarter than the one stealing the signs and change the signs.

Real concern about Latos is....where is the slider? I do not remember seeing one tonight. Guys with barking arms sometimes quit throwing the slider because of pain. I sure hope he is not hurt, but he has not been the FB/slider guy we traded for.

He was bad. Looks like he has a high averagre rungs per game, and a low K/BB ratio at the 'Umpire Report' web site.

He should not be allowed to ump for any team in the Central then. What kind of BS is that?

Said that earlier. I think he is bad luck. Makes everyone think it's 2008 again.

    I agree with that.

From Wikipedia: "Randy's older brother Jim is a Major League umpire[2]. To avoid a potential conflict of interests, Jim does not work behind the plate on games his brother pitches. More recently, Jim has not officiated games that includes his brother's team. If his crew is involved in games that include Randy's team, he is removed from those games and switches with another umpire."

Well.... numbers are nice....and all that peripheral stuff that will tell you what a guy can be....but good old fashion scouting of what a guy's makeup is could have really helped in making this trade.

That's a good point. Clear conflict of interest.

It took Joey Votto (not a mere mortal, but Joseph Daniel Votto!) hitting a double and three homers, including a game-winning grand slam, to overcome GG's bad mojo!

Not sure that's fair. He got lit up tonight and I saw him in the dugout, still in uniform instead of going into the clubhouse, showering and pouting for two hours. That showed me a lot tonight.
