    LeRoy Neiman Passes Away

Famed sports artist Leroy Neiman has passed away at the age of 91. He was most famous for doing artwork in relation to the Olympics. He also did artwork for many years for Playboy magazine. I remember seeing him many times on TV sketching or painting something on the sports scene. He did a couple of Super Bowls for CBS sketching the action as it happened. He sounded like a very interesting person and will be missed.

Wow, I was just watching Pawn Stars the other night, and someone brought in a piece of his. Corey specifically said he wanted the painting because he knew Neiman was 90 and knew the price would go up if he passed. Looks like he made a good investment.

I had the exact thought when I heard the news last night. I am sure that episode was filmed a few months ago, but still, the timing was crazy.

Although his art wasn't really my cup of tea, I recognize he was a very talented artist. I was always impressed by his Hall of Fame-level mustache. RIP.
