    Birthdays: 6/21

    Reds:

Willie Harris (34) -From the same hometown as Jackie Robinson...Scored the winning run in Game 4 of the 2005 World Series.

Esteban Yan (37) -Holds the Japan League single-season record for balks...Esteban had two career ABS, and hit a single and a homer for a career BA of 1.000 and a slugging percentage of 2.500.

Dave Tomlin (63) -A lefty reliever from Maysville Kentucky, he was Reds property three different times, both before and after the 75 and 76 world championships.

    Others:

Faye Throneberry -The older brother of Marvelous Marv Throneberry, but no one called him "Fabulous Faye" that I know of...His real first name is "Maynard"...After his baseball career he became a trainer of champion bird dogs.

Walt Masterson -He's pretty obscure, but he did start the 1948 All-Star Game on the mound for the AL...Supposedly struck out Mickey Mantle in five consecutive ABs...A crony of Ted Williams, he served as pitching coach in Williams reign as Senators manager.

Carl Hubbell -Great screwball pitcher; the first NL player to have his jersey number retired...Died in a car accident 30 years to the day after his old teammate Mel Ott died in a car accident...

Freaking awesome batting stat there. Move over Babe Ruth! Career OPS = 3.500 and OPS+ = 771. His 1st AB was the homer. And the 2nd hit came three years after the HR. lol
