If the purpose of Bray is to get lefties out, you would think he would be the one pitching to Mauer. Hopefully Homer will handle him ok.

Homer has had high leverage spots in this game, I'm guessing he's gassed.

I'm usually a positive guy, but man, I am not feeling good about this game at all. Very winnable with Blackburn on the mound and the the subpar Twinkies offense, and it's way too close for comfort.
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."

Think I read Homer's mouth there.

Dusty removes Homer. He probably left him in one batter too long.

Bill Bray makes his return in a big pressure situation.

I like that Homer was pissed he was getting pulled. I want that in a pitcher.

Yeah, but Homer didn't pitch that well tonight. Once the Reds went ahead, Homer needed to mow them down. He's had constant trouble since.

I'm not sure what it was with Homer tonight. I'm not sure if he was getting squeezed, if he was just off tonight or what. But one thing he hasn't been doing this year is walking batters. 3 tonight. He's been a strike throwing machine for quite a while now. Hopefully tonight was just an off night.

Bray not close to the zone.
