Votto grounds out to 2nd. 5-4 Twins after 7.

    Reds are better than this.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

Bucs won. Cards are up by about 30 runs.

They really need to recover fast and have a good homestand because that west coast road trip before the break is going to be rough.

You complain every time they swing at the first or second pitch and get an out.

Yet you don't complain when they get a hit in the same circumstances..

The Reds are 4th in the majors in OPS when the put the first pitch in play.
You fall behind 0-1 and your OPS drops dramatically.

Yeah. Mesoraco went deep in the count with the bases loaded. Did him a lot of good.

You hit the pitches you can hit, whenever they come. The idea is to hit, not to wait.

Not sure, Tom. Most don't play intelligently. Club is managed confusingly. With a 4 game lead and looking to take over the division, you have to win. The Reds didn't and may lose 3 games of their lead to the Indians and the horrible Twins.

    We are in first place.

It's baseball, you often lose, due to the randomness of baseball.

If you think you need to win every night, you need to start playing parchesee with your grandchildren.

And sometimes a team just isn't that good. And eventually it catches up to them.

Span pops out to short. Twins lead 5-4 mid 8th.
