And I know a lotta people love the guy, but Heisey didn't do himself any favors while Stubbs was on the DL.

I'm trying to figure out why so many think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I think people were just sick and tired of seeing Stubbs strike out twice a game.

    2 things
    Should have left Leake in.
Then should have walked Willingham and set up the lefty, lefty matchup.

At least it takes three pitches to strike out.

Heisey has gone from a slugger to slap hitter in one season, alarmingly drastic dropoff of power

Stubbs does strike out a lot, but he also scores a lot of runs. He makes the best out of the times that he gets on. Obviously that says a lot about the guys behind him, but it just seems like Heisey hasn't really been making anything happen.

Both points are fine in hindsight, I guess. The first point is more valid, but you just don't walk the go-ahead run intentionally. It's just not done unless it's Barry Bonds or Pujols in their prime, or maybe Votto now. Besides, a lefty had just doubled.

Well, last time the Pirates pulled even we ran off 6 straight. Lotta season left, but we do need Chapman to get right. At this moment, he might be the weak link in the bullpen. Can't have that as your closer.
