Please. Berry made a bad decision, yes.

But this is on the closer. Period.
Leake had only made 86 pitches and he was cruising. Plus, I like his groundball tendencies. I would've left him in. Also, I didn't like the Harris bunt play either at all in the 9th down.

We lost 2 of 3 to the Minnesota Twins.

    Yeah.

there needs to be some major changes. A comfortable divison lead has been bumbled away in little more than a week by some seriously bad play and decisions.

I really worry about these next couple weeks. That west coast road trip may be brutal with the way this team is playing.

In response to the first question, the first two hitters in the order. By far the most significant piece of ongoing mismanagement by Dusty. Otherwise, I agree; this is mostly about Chapman.

The same manager who demoted Marshall for less.

Votto was on deck both of these loses

The Reds and the Pirates will both be watching the Cardinals dust in the next month or so. This west coast trip is going to be brutal

Frankly, I think the Reds team are a bit full of themselves right now.

The thing is.........management is never in panic mode which can be a good thing and a bad thing. Such as not bringing up Cozart earlier last year was a stupid move.

Gee, sure don't need Willingham do we? Hmmm. I'd rather have swing at the first pitch I see after the 2 guys in front of me just walked Heisey.

I dont' know if Leake has ever worked a complete game. Twins had the middle of the order coming up. Pitch count isn't everything.

A competent job by the closer and there's no issue.

Aroldis fanned the first guy. Mauer had a great at bat. Chapman messed up grooving a fastball to Willingham and that was it.

As for the bunt, I agree, I wouldn't bunt there. i wouldn't have bunted the other night either when Valdez hit for Mes.

But the bottom line is the team had a lead in the ninth and the closer gave up a homer for the second straight game. Chapman just needs to be given a different role, he's messing things up.

    I would have made three.

True, but it was a poor decision to bring Chapman in. Berry's decision is obvious. Bunting with Harris instead of letting Mes hit. Continuing to play Heisey and let him bat first is insane. Those are managerial decisions that cost the Reds the game. Players are what they are. It is up to management to make decisions that give the team a chance to win.

I'm not absolving Chapman of blame, mind you. Leake has pitched a complete game before. He looked good out there and I like having in a guy who can get some groundballs against the meat of the Twins order.

I just felt like Dusty made some bad decisions today. And I am not usually one who blames the losses on his decisions. But today, I think he definitely shares in the blame.

The poorest decision was made in filling out the lineup card, as usual.

The most frustrating thing about this week is losing 5 out of 6 and 4 of those losses could have easily been wins.

Re: 6/24/12 - Reds vs Twins

I don't know why I expect anything to change. I've been screaming for someone who can get on base in front of Joey and someone who can hit behind and protect him for three years. It's been obvious and its been ignored for over three seasons. I wouldn't be that worried about the Aroldis issue, if it wasn't for Dusty. There are several guys who can do the job until Chapman straightens himself out. My worry though is that Dusty keeps running AC out there letting him try to work things out in the 9th inning.

The lineup needs to be fixed ASAP though.
