Central Wisconsin. We weren't used to people of color.

Only one baserunner for the Brewers. Braun on a hit-by-pitch.

'56. The old Northern League. That's the league Aaron played in. A ball. Pinson was with the Reds two years later and had a huge year in '59.

Pinson had one of the best 20-year old seasons in baseball history.

My first favorite Red was Jim Maloney. Heard the final outs of his last no-hitter on a transistor radio through my pillow when I was supposed to be asleep.

He was replaced in my affections by Tony, who remains the Red man, to me.

yeah, something happened to him after 61. He never had a year like that again. He'd fit in nicely on the present team though.

My dad said we were looking at a future HOFer when Pinson first came up.

He used to get more triples in a year than many got HR's
The older I get - the better I was

and yes - I hate the Cardinals (Reds fan since 1958)

    I miss Raisor

Can you imagine how many home runs the Big Red Machine would have hit if they had stayed in Crosley? Perez, May, Bench, Foster etc.

Me too. I never tried CF, but I did imitate his swing.

10 Ks so far. Too bad the fans don't get the pizza and ice cream if 11 Reds strike out.
