What will we have at the ASB

10 games left before the All Star break, Reds head west for a tough 10 game road trip against Dodgers, Giants and Padres. Meanwhile Cards at home for 10 game homestand. Pirates not just a game and half back and since May 11 a nice 25-17. Oh and right now Cards are plus 69 in run differential which is tops in the NL. Reds are 6-2-2 in last 10 road series... So what will the central look like come the ASB standing wise...

    11-game trip, I believe.

I was discussing with some friends earlier today: how would you define a successful west coast trip? For Reds teams of the past, I think I'd be happy to survive it at 4-7. Anything that wasn't a complete disaster (and it frequently was) felt almost like a positive.

In this case, though, with a first-place team expecting to contend, I think we need to get out of there at least 6-5.

    Thoughts?

Whom is the other 4 game series with? Giants are 4, but I thought Dodgers/Padres were 3 game matchups...

San Fran will be the toughest series with their pitching. We always have trouble scoring runs off the better pitchers in the league. The Dodgers are having trouble scoring right now. Maybe we're catching them at a good time. The Padres are not a good team. We should take 3 out of 4 in San Diego. All in all, we NEED to take at least 6 games. 7 would be better. Anything less and we might find ourselves in 2nd or 3rd place on All Star Tuesday.

Good test for whether or not this looks like a team that, if it makes the playoffs, can actually stick around for a while.

    My opinion:

    Cincy 48-37 (7-4)
    STL 47-39 (7-3)
    Pit 45-40 (5-5)
Mil 39-46 (5-5)......I think I have current records right with games left???
