Not if you 'freeze on a line drive' like they tell you in Little League.

Votto on the DL would put immense pressure on the pitching staff.

Welsh thought he took off like there were two outs. Who knows? I know it killed the rally.

Well, if Votto is out for some time I guess all the Cairo lovers will find out if he has ant worth at all.

Sure would be nice to have even an average 1B bat on the bench to replace Votto.

Instead, we have The Ancient One.

You're also taught to take a secondary lead there, and he did freeze...just long enough to see he was getting doubled.

A secondary lead is after the pitcher releases the ball. Stubbs takes off sprinting when Bruce makes contact.

It was a soft line drive hit right toward Stubbs, he made a BLUNDER!

Hmm maybe I didn't see it right then, if he was running on contact that would be our 2nd terrible baserunning decision of the game.

    72 games in the minors.

But then how would Miggy's water seek/find its level?

If Votto is out, call up Navarro and let Hanigan play 1st (hasn't he played there some?)..Navarro and Mes can split the catching duties....just an idea

Stubbs is completely capable of that.
