By the way, it appears that Votto grabbed his helmet and was going to pinch hit?
Have we even heard a diagnosis for his knee yet? All I've heard is inflammation which is a symptom, not a diagnosis
Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. -- Carl Sagan (Pale Blue Dot)
My understanding is that it was a jammed knee, and that there was nothing structural (e.g. cartilage, meniscus, ligament) that needed to be addressed beyond swelling related to the injury. For anyone who has had a hyperextended wrist or a jammed toe before, you know that it will swell and only time can really heal it.
The fact that an MRI has not been conducted is, in my opinion, a good thing. MRI's are generally conducted only when structural damage is anticipated or feared, as far as I know.
Day-to-day has never been more true than it is in this case, I would think.
Votto may miss the All-Star Game per Walt.

This is the ol Left Hander rounding third and heading for home.
depending on the availablity of Cozart, Votto & Rolen, they really need to do something to get more bodies on the bench to finish out the road trip.
