Vin Scully just said Cozart being beaned was the start of the Peoria/Dayton brawl a few years back where the Cubs pitcher got arrested. Didn't know that.

    Just a terrible pitch.
This isn't Tom Shearn pitching. This is Johnny Cueto, the Reds ace vs. a .248 hitter. You challenge him every day. He just about struck him out the pitch before the hit.

Come on, blue. Stubbs can strike out on his own. No need for your help.

    that was called a strike?
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

That is one of the worst at-bats I've ever seen.

Yep, I do remember that. I didn't realize he was arrested. What a dolt.

Keep watching Stubbs and Heisey - you'll see even worse.

From last season to this Heisey has done a complete turnaround and Stubbs has been sinking at bat by at bat since his first 4 or 5 months up.

I said it during the at bat, post 182 of this thread.

Bobby Abreu is a professional hitter. The Dodgers have a weak lineup.

You fall behind Abreu in that spot you cannot groove the pitch, which he did.

You make him go out of the zone to get a hit. If you walk him, you walk him, and pitch to the next guy.

You groove a pitch to Bobby Abreu, even at 38, and you get burned.

Three key plays this game. Frazier getting called out erroneously at second base on force play. Votto unable to score because of bad knee. Cueto grooving pitch to Abreu with first base open.
