On the double by Yonder (replayed this several times) Heisey got in 14 strides to Valdez's 11 and looks to have covered nearly 10 more feet than Valdez.

I'm a big fan of Heisey. He's really not that much slower than Stubbs and will give you the diving play that Stubbs doesn't seem able to make/attempt. During Stubbs' absense, Heisy batted .333. Stubby = trade bait.

I believe the head first slide messed up the ump

Head first into first almost never works. Even when it does, the ump can't hear it the way he can hear the foot on the bag.

I hate the head first slide period, I'm glad we don't have many guys who run the bases like that. Just like Gordon last night, it's an easy way to get yourself a trip to the DL.

That's a great point. I;ve been saying for awhile that I would love to see ump cams in real speed.
