Dusty's lineup construction is just awful.
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

Valdez is there solely for a sac bunt. Dusty is expecting a low scoring game. Just hope he can get it done in cf.

What? You'd prefer centerfielder first and shortstop second?

Dusty is trying to build Stubb's confidence by putting someone even worse than him in the 2 spot. It isn't easy, but he's making it happen.

Now, this is genius. You put a remarkably low OBP guy to lead off and a sac bunt specialist to bat second. Anybody see a flaw with that strategy? Anybody?

Swept the Mets at Citifield with Valdez in CF hitting second.

The Reds should light up Volquez like a Christmas tree. They know his game as well as anyone.

Alas, they probably won't. Even knowing he's a walk machine, I have a sinking feeling they'll go up there hacking trying to "make something happen."

And if I remember correctly Valdez had a pretty good series at the plate then and not just bunting. he had a couple RBI singles. Im so sick of Stubbs Im glad Valdez gets the start.

Volquez will probably have 6 or more walks and still only give up a run or 2 in 7 innings. After thinking about it we should sweep these guys. I mean cmon. latos has been throwing great and vs. his old team he should continue that. Arroyo has been due for a win for 5 starts now. Bailey pitches like Cy Young on the road and with this huge park it should be no different, and Cueto is due after losing his last 2. So after all that a 4 game sweep should be easy right?

As poor a hitter as Valdez is, he doesn't strike out much. So there's that.

Just like little league. Instruct Valdez not to swing until he gets two strikes. Guaranteed two walk minimum against Volkie.

    SS/CF must bat #1 and #2.
