Wow, what a bad call...just terrible. Joey should have had an at bat there.

That's called a catch all the time.
    2014 Reds record: 1-2

I look like a banker in this...

I am going to make the most daring prediction of all time. Someday, some how, Stubbs will get at least one more hit in his major league career.

Agree. I think 0 for 50 would get him some national attention though. That's doable.

Umps are better than ever but umps in 1961 when I was a kid didn't have clear as a bell close ups on every computer screen of every fan right there either....clamor for replay if you like but don't blame the umps - there's as good as it is possible to be on the close ones.

    Just my opinion.

Nice piece of hitting by Venable. Behind in the count, Opposite field hard grounder right in the hole.

Counsell's 0 for 45 right now and hasn't gotten any press over it (one off the record)

agreed. And even on the replay...I sure couldn't tell if it hit the ground. It was closer than I thought, but certainly not clear enough for a "what a horrible call!!!" kind of comment.
    2014 predictions:
99-63 WS champs (Cards take 2nd WC, Mil 3rd, Pit 4th, Chi 5th)
Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner
    Hamilton ROY & GG

Yeah, I think 0 for 50 might start getting attention.
