    That actually scared me for a sec. It looked like Wells hit that on the nose with everything he had and he stood up and watched it. Stubbs had to go back for it but only because he was playing so short...he didn't even get close to the warning track.

    What is this new game of pepper Bruce plays with the left fielder? Will anything come from this development? He really doesn't drive the ball that way.

    He is trying to get his spray chart to say left field, so they stop the stupid shift (that works).

    This is not the kind of stadium for Jay Bruce. He hits too many fly balls. They die in San Diego.

    They can keep the shift and just make sure the LF stays ready for a lazy line drive.
