Jay has the third highest fly ball percentage of qualified NL hitters. IMO his problem is less pulling the ball and more popping it up.

I think GABP has hurt Jay's development as a hitter. Too focused on the long fly ball. Votto has managed to avoid that tendency and has become a great hitter.

He needs to hit next to Votto. I want to see him bat 2nd or 4th.

Yeah. I wasn't trying to make an excuse for the Reds...we're playing poorly. Just don't want to make it sound like the Padres are a bunch of chumps either.
    2014 predictions:

Bruce/Votto neck and neck MVP race (neither takes it)
    Bailey CYA winner

You don't see Hanny complain very often but he's gotten some crappy calls tonight.

    the manigan!
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."
