His pitch selection and patience is off....but he has still been getting hits. Hope that he does not get hurt further like Stanton has.

Another quick inning. Bruce grounds out to 2nd. 3-2 Reds mid 6th.

Yes the hit to the 8th hitter was not a bad pitch....how that guy got it is beyond me. I just wish he would have left Maybin alone and just concentrated on the hitter.

If the Reds win tonight, wouldn't be shocked to see Joey sit tomorrow and just pinch hit if necessary. Just to give him an extra rest day before the break (whether he plays in the ASG or not).

I'd be fine with that - the heck with taking risks with him

Yes, indeed. Put Cairo out there for one last hoorah. At least that is what I would hope, one LAST hoorah for Cairo.

If he becomes a low OBP right handed power hitter, he could re-join the Reds.

Good luck to Owings. Had some good moments for the Reds, mostly as a hitter.

I would like to see him succeed as well, but not so much for the Reds.

    ugh
"Since I've been with the Reds in 1989, we've never had a farm system this loaded," Bowden said. "If we were the New York Yankees and had unlimited dollars, we could have traded for Colon, (Jeff) Weaver, Rolen, (Cliff) Floyd, (Kenny) Rogers and Finley and gotten them all -- and still held onto our top five prospects. That's an amazing statement."
