Baby Reds are off to a rough start on the season with a record of 3-11. Looks like 3-12 is a distinct possibility as they trail 6-1 in the sixth. Amir Garrett started. His line looks like this: 1.2IP 3H 3R 3ER 2BB 2K. Mike Saunders fared about the same. Jose Williams has hurled a scoreless frame. Jhimmy Lopez is making his debut, batting 1 for 2. Ty Washington, Wilfrel Estevez and Argemos Alzadoro all have singled. Brent Peterson scored the only run for the Arizona Reds but has come out of the game, being replaced by Humberto Valor.

Billings falls 15-3 and fall out of first place as well. Wagner Gomez doubled in the ninth for his third hit of the game.

Jose Williams now has thrown three hitless innings in relief. AZ Reds still trail 6-1 late. Boof Bonser pitched a scoreless inning for the Toddler Giants.

The lists says that an OF Billy Hamilton, Ryan LaMarre and Jay Bruce could be the likely starting OF for the Reds in 2014. I'm think it may be more like Donald Lutz, Billy Hamilton and Jay Bruce with Ryan LaMarre as the fourth OF (and able to play all three spots). Not bad.

Agreed. I hope Lutz is ready by then. LaMarre is likely a 4th OF IMO.

I'd like to see Lutz move up to join Billy at Pensacola within the next two weeks. Despite missing time with an injury, he's having a strong season (he's homered the last two nights also).

I could probably be quite content with a 2014 Opening Day lineup of:

    CF Billy Hamilton
    2B Brandon Phillips
    1B Joey Votto
    LF Donald Lutz
    RF Jay Bruce
    3B Todd Frazier
    CA Devin Mesaraco
    SS Zach Cozart

And a bench with Didi Gregorious, Henry Rodriguez, Ryan LeMarre, Ryan Hannigan (and one or two more).

So you think in a year and a half that Donald Lutz is going to be batting clean up for the Reds?

Lutz is having a strong power season. In a league where a whole lot of people hit for power. He has 18 walks and 65 strikeouts. That isn't so good. He is going to need time.

LaMarre may prove to be better than a 4th OF.
