Dayton underway. Gonzalez allows a double to Jesse Winker's brother, but gets out of the top of the first otherwise unscathed. The Dragons go down 1-2-3 in the bottom half of the inning.

Yorman and Wright stay hot with a single and double in Dayton's 2-run second. It was followed, unfortunately, by a 5-run third for the Great Lakes Loons.

With Gregorius leading off, LaMarre bats second, obviously getting him accustomed to that spot in anticipation of Hamilton's arrival. And whaddya know, SS and CF hitting 1-2. Somehow, that sounds vaguely familiar . . .

The Wahoos jump out to an early 2-0 lead. Barnhart singles in one run and error plates the second. Brodie Greene with a double to start the rally. Corcino with two perfect frames so far, striking out a pair.

Loons still lead the Dragons by a 5-2 margin. Gonzalez out; Jensen in. Two scoreless innings of relief so far. Terry, Rodriguez and Waldrop with single. Wright with a double.

Loons trying to help Dayton back into the game. Two errors and a HBP load the bases with nobody out but the Dragons can only push across one run on a ground ball out. Loons help Dayton load the bases again in the sixth - this time on two walks and a wild pitch strike out - but Dayton comes up empty again. So, in recapping, Dayton loads the bases in both the fifth and sixth without benefit of a hit. And only manage to score one run. 5-3 after six. Jensen pitched three hitless innings in relief. Lucas O'Rear now on.

Billings underway. Mustangs have one hit through two. One guess as to whom it was. Stephenson has pitched a scoreless frame.

    Corcino appears to be having things his way: 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K.

I was hoping for Corcino's numbers to continue to dominate, but he's taken a step backward this year. He's K'ing a couple batter less per game and walking a couple batters more. The good news is that he's given up a hit less per nine and his ERA has dropped.

Still, it's looking like last year was an outlier rather than a breakout season.

Nice to see the success, still.

Tonight's effort has dropped his ERA under 3.00 (2.97 at the moment).

Meanwhile, David Vidal has gone deep to stake him to a 6-0 lead.

Daniel Pigott drives in a pair to pull Billings even at 2-2 in the third.

Corcino is having an excellent season for a 21-year-old pitcher at AA. Let's not forget he skipped a level. The fact that his ERA is under 3 pitching at AA at his age is very impressive. Gotta love our array of pitching prospects.

I understand skipping the level, but I was hoping he'd found that next level of dominance. The TOR level. Instead, he's looking more like a solid MOR guy.

Which is great. It's more than any Red prospective pitcher for a decade or so.

I was simply looking for more, that's all.
